Some of the things that are inspiring my work right now in the studio: tools, books, YouTube channels, podcasts and more.
I purchased a the Canon 100MM f2.8L lens recently with the hope that it would making filming sketching videos easier (it has) and to my surprise I’ve discovered it’s an amazing portrait lens too. These two photos were taken on Christmas eve day as my father filleted one of his favorite Christmas treats, smoked whitefish. He’s the only one in the family with enough patience to debone it for our smorgasbord.
Books I’m reading
I’ve given myself permission to dip in and out of books now. If I tire of one or the messaging gets repetitive, I simply move on. Rather than be held hostage by my list, this has been a totally liberating practice.
