now

Some of the things that are inspiring my work right now in the studio: tools, books, YouTube channels, podcasts and more.

READING

Who Not How by Dan Sullivan + Benjamin Hardy. An incredible manifesto and personal unlock for me regarding the power of hiring a team. This is ‘just-in-time-learning’ for me as build out my own team.

Speculative Coolness by Bryan Cantley. Weird, wonderful, compositions and collages that remind me of the exuberance of architecture school. Brimming with ideas, the layered graphics remind me of the speculative projects by Pfau Jones back in the early 90’s. A graphical feast and encyclopedic effort by Bryan (a professor at Cal State Fullerton) including models (digital + physical), drawings, essays, sketches, and musings.

LISTENING

Harvest** by Empire State Bastard. Side project between: Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro), Mike Vennart (Oceansize), and Naomi Macleod (Bitch Falcon). Album is promised “soon,” for now this video includes all songs written to date.

**May result in hearing loss + room destruction.

Gas Light by Bitch Falcon. What I love about the hypertext of discovering new music is that the above led me to check out the bassist’s main band. Gritty, grungy, raw, imperfect, with incredible hooks and big vocals.

LEARNING

My First Million Podcast We need to hear more stories of female entrepreneur’s like Sarah. The statement, "There are a few moments in your life when decades are decided..." [ 57:08 ] couldn’t be more true. Pure gold in this episode, just wow.

Tech Updates. I’ve been researching, learning before I update my system. And, I’m updating my computer buying guide for both PCs and Macs.
